Hi, I’m Amy Morel L'Horset, Registered Dietitian and founder of Prevention Dietitian.

I help busy women – just like you – balance their blood sugar with nutrition and lifestyle solutions.

I am deeply passionate about disease prevention both professionally and personally. I have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  I have witnessed the challenges and unnecessary suffering of unmanaged chronic disease.

Here’s what makes me different. My main career path is in nutrition, but I also know that nutrition coaching isn’t enough to help my clients make as much progress as they deserve to have. My extensive additional training allows us to focus on blood sugar management, stress reduction, and other lifestyle changes that transform your hard work into big progress. We’ll cover stress reduction, having a good night’s sleep, intentional movement, and more. A healthy, balanced life is far more than just what you eat, but improving what you eat is a great place to start.

"Your story matters as much as your diagnostics matter" - Dr. Brené Brown

I strongly believe in my own personal and professional development. I show up for each of my clients as the best version of myself because I am always investing in myself.  You can always find me in some kind of continuing education, or certificate program, or professional development course. I have collected more letters after my name than a bowl of alphabet soup!

But really, this is all to be able to serve you. With each new course or degree, I am able to better serve my clients with effective strategies that last!

Here’s my goal for you: to graduate feeling empowered to have this next chapter of your life be the healthiest, most vibrant yet. I’ll be equipping you with tools and strategies to feel great, conquer your blood sugars and lower the risk of your prediabetes turning into type 2 diabetes. It is absolutely possible and I can show you how.

With more than twenty years in diabetes specialty practice, I founded Prevention Dietitian to serve busy women working to manage their blood sugar.

As a busy wife and mother to three rowdy boys, life has continued to challenge and change me. I love it. As an Air Force vet, I’ve traveled the world and continued to learn new and better ways to creatively support you with your health and wellness goals. As a team, we will get curious about the best ways for you to thrive and enjoy life.

I love to travel and I have to say that no summer is complete without several days spent by the ocean.
